The
Project

Four Pillars Gin was born in 2013 when three friends and wine industry veterans decided to embark on their next adventure producing gin. Six years later, Four Pillars was named by the IWSC in London as the world's leading gin producer - now two years running. Four Pillars pride themselves on being modern Australian makers, who produce awarded and unique craft gins right here in Australia. Their brand is centred on combining intense creativity around gin with a huge passion for hospitality and fun.
+ Solutions
Content-led commerce
Four Pillars required a CMS that allows rich content management while enabling a seamless commerce experience.
To amplify all aspects of the customer experience from content to commerce, we implemented a headless CMS & eCommerce setup. We used the BigCommerce API and a WordPress front end to power the user experience on the front end. This allowed us to create a rich, engaging and brand-aligned eCommerce experience that remained true to Four Pillar's identity as a small, creative distillery.
EZY Systems Integration
As a distillery, Four Pillars required a specific accounting tool, EZY systems to be used in their internal reconciliation. Problems were faced with extracting useful order data from BigCommerce.
Overdose designed a custom ORDERS and DEBTORS data export from BigCommerce, specifically geared toward importing into the EZY software. This allowed Four Pillars to accurately reconcile internally and reduced issues occurring. On a rolling basis, Overdose has updated this custom export to reflect new website functionality updates, such as the addition of gift vouchers.
Integrating physical locations with ecommerce system
Four Pillars required a content-led eCommerce experience that allowed users to be led to their physical experiences. In having two physical locations, their Healesville distillery and Surry Hills laboratory, they required a seamless event booking system that led users from a rich content experience, into their physical spaces.
Overdose implemented an integration with Eventbrite on the fourpillarsgin.com site, allowing Four Pillars to seamlessly take bookings from their website and translate these into fun, in-person hospitality experiences that celebrated their brand identity.
Showcasing recipe content on product pages
Four Pillars' brand identity is centred around providing rich and creative experiences for customers. This required Overdose to develop a content-rich and customisable product page that highlighted recipes, botanicals and the distilling process.
Overdose designed and developed a creative and customisable content-led product page that allows Four Pillars to enhance the user experience by offering recipes, stories, videos and botanical information within the page. This created a content-rich user experience that added value to customers on the eCommerce channel, which was key to Four Pillars.

Customisable Product Page
Four Pillars needed their product pages to be centred around a rich, content-led experience for the user. Overdose designed and developed a creative and customisable content-heavy product page that allows Four Pillars to enhance the user experience by offering recipes, stories, videos and botanical information within the page. This created a content-rich user experience that added value to customers on the eCommerce channel, which was key to Four Pillars. Using WordPress as the frontend component of Four Pillars’ headless implementation allowed Four Pillars to have full control of the product page and dynamically update it, adding new botanicals, stories, journal articles and recipe blocks to keep the experience fresh for their loyal gin fans.
