Since 2012, RJ Living has operated as a family-owned business. Founded by David Janovic, the business was born out of his desire to deliver unique designer furniture without an inflated price tag.

Everything they do has a personal touch. Their single purpose is to help you discover the right furniture pieces and designer homewares to inspire your style of living. From Scandinavian and Danish-inspired furniture, Industrial Furniture, Retro Furniture, Modern to Mid Century Furniture style, they have a wide range of unique furniture styles to suit. RJ Living engaged Overdose. to deliver their new Shopify Plus website, leveraging AR product visualisation using Plattar, SearchSpring category merchandising and a re-designed UX/UI. As a long-term partner, we have worked together across marketing, SEO and email strategies, with the new site complementing these activities to drive overall growth.

Integrations

Yotpo was utilised for both UGC, and Instagram feeds as well as product reviews and questions. Cin7 was integrated to add the live product feed into Shopify, DataJet for shipping rates and Brilliance for product recommendations and content personalisation.

To help support the RJ Living mission, we worked closely with Plattar to digitise their product portfolio and bring them to life in 360 View and In Home View within their new Shopify Plus website. The Plattar product experience platform enables RJ Living to virtually place their furniture into the homes of their customers, so they can see how each piece will fit, look and work with the other furnishings in the space ensuring their customers have confidence in their selection and enjoy the buying experience, particularly when shopping online.

CHALLENGE #001
Speed to market whilst integrating a new AR experience for RJ Living customers

Integrating Plattar on PDP to showcase the RJ Living product, given the project's complexity and an aggressive timeline to ensure the new site was operational for peak season furniture seasons.

SOLUTION

The RJ Living team worked closely with Plattar to produce product models and utilise AR features on PDP. Overdose. quickly integrated the Plattar SDK so design and development of the new Product Display Page (PDP) could be completed, across the digital customer experience. RJ Living’s single purpose is to help their customers discover the right furniture and designer homewares to inspire their style of living. This is achieved by transforming the way customers experience their products through Plattars 3D & AR product experience platform, driving sales and building lasting customer relationships.

Complex shipping matrix

Shipping bulky items, with different requirements based on location and order size.

SOLUTION

Due to the nature of the product being bulky, and differences in freight costs to different locations in Australia, RJ Living designed a complex shipping matrix, which was implemented via DataJet on Shopify.

Re-designed UX/UI

Convey premium quality of the RJ brand online.

SOLUTION

During the project discovery, Overdose. worked with the RJ Living team to redesign key pages across the site to align with the premium quality brand, while incorporating the updated tech stack - for example, Yotpo for both reviews and UGC.

Large product catalogue and complex

Different PDP requirements across the product catalogue.

SOLUTION

To cover the large product catalogue we designed multiple versions of the PDP to accommodate the requirements across different product types - including RJ Living branding products, kit or modular products as well as artworks and homeware products.

UX/UI

RJ Living and Overdose. worked closely to define a new UX/UI experience for RJ Living customers. We focussed on ensuring the PDP design was flexible to the large and complex product catalogue, with options for content relevant to the RJ Living brand and stocked brands. This included the integration of Plattar on PDP (both 3D renders, and in-home visualisation). Another key factor in the PDP design was the inclusion of a simple shipping calculator to present shipping costs upfront. In addition, the new site boasts a new physical swatch ordering experience for customers.
