Two of New Zealand's most recognised fashion brands, each built on decades of heritage and a clear point of view.

Max is conscious style for women. Timeless silhouettes, ethical sourcing, and a commitment to sustainability that goes beyond the label. Barkers is refined Kiwi menswear. Craftsmanship, quality fabric, and over fifty years of cultural relevance. Different brands, shared values: premium design and retail that stands for something.

Overdose. and these brands go way back. What started with the original Adobe Commerce builds has evolved into a partnership grounded in trust, ambition, and a deep understanding of what makes each brand tick. So when it came time to migrate both brands to Shopify Plus and expand into Australia, there was no pitch required. This was the natural next step. A migration born from years of collaboration, not a cold brief.

UX/UI

The standout UX challenge wasn't the migration itself. It was making loyalty feel native to Shopify Plus.

Overdose. built a dynamic points breakdown visible on both the PDP and cart, showing customers exactly what each purchase earns them. Simple transparency, big impact. It drives account creation, encourages login, and deepens the reward loop that keeps customers coming back.

Beyond that, Shopify's out-of-the-box account pages weren't going to cut it. The team customised account layouts to handle the complexity of region-aware reward displays. NZ and AU balances, redemption options, and loyalty tiers all surfaced clearly without confusion. The result is an account experience that feels considered and branded, not bolted on.
