Amer Sports Group

Introducing Shopify POS across three Amer Sports brands meant more than adding a store checkout. Orders, returns and exchanges needed the right ERP treatment, while online-only offers and customer communications had to keep their channel and location context.
The project
Overdose’s work with Amer Sports spans several performance brands in APAC. This project brought Shopify POS into Arc’teryx, Wilson and Salomon stores, building on their existing Shopify and SAP environment.
The teams adapted order mapping through DataJet, used Shopify Functions to keep selected promotions online, and captured store postcodes without requiring full customer addresses. Shopify Flow then tagged POS orders by location for corresponding Klaviyo segments. Each decision dealt with a practical difference between buying in-store and online.

Integrations
Shopify POS and the online storefront share commerce data, but Amer Sports needed SAP to distinguish store orders, returns and exchanges from web transactions. DataJet adapted the existing integration into flat files that met the ERP’s mapping requirements. Shopify Functions read sale values held in variant metafields so online-only and Salomon loyalty offers did not change POS pricing. In-store staff could record a postcode through a POS extension, while Shopify Flow tagged orders by store location for Klaviyo segmentation. Those choices keep channel-specific rules visible rather than treating every sale as the same transaction.
